Chavez Brushes Aside Western Allegations Against Iran

They accuse Iran of making the atomic bomb. Why don't those who make the accusations set an example?

May 13, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - The Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has once again voiced his strong support for Iran’ s domestic nuclear program on Wednesday as reported by AFP.

He brushed aside Western media allegations that falsely claim Iran is pursuing a military nuclear program. Chavez said there is no evidence whatsoever on diversion into manufacturing bomb grade material suitable for nuclear weapons in Iran.

He also dismissed unfounded charges that Iran is the biggest threat in the world.  ‘They accuse Iran of making the atomic bomb. Why don't those who make the accusations set an example? …Iran isn't the biggest threat in the world,’ Chavez said.

Latin America has its own share of problems with US-led Western imperialism while oil rich Venezuela is at constant loggerheads with Washington hawks due to its own independent national policies which do not necessarily follow those of the United States’.

Just the other day Chavez government announced creation of a publicly owned import-export company designed to combat rampant corruption by US backed Venezuelan business elites. The government blames the bourgeois class for causing inflation, corruption and mafia running of the economy aimed at weakening the revolution spirit of the nation.

Chavez praised Brazilian President Lula’s approach to Iran’s nuclear program in an attempt to find a peaceful resolution over this issue during his upcoming first visit to Iran next week.
